Why are puppy grooms important?

Puppy socialisation is a critical part of every puppy’s education, this also includes regular visits to the groomers!

Most dogs will require visits to the groomers every 6-8 weeks throughout their lifetime so it is very important to get them used to attending the salon and the grooming process. Most dogs love their visits once they learn it’s a safe place to be (plenty of cuddles and play provided!) and it really does become just a normal part of their life.

At Chelsea’s Dog Grooming we offer puppy grooming introduction sessions (puppy grooms) from the age of 14 weeks – providing all pups have completed their full vaccination course. We do usually advise pups to have been out on walks for a week or two before their first visit, so they have seen a bit of the world first to help prevent the appointment being too daunting for them.
